Tip No. 2

FOLD THE LAUNDRY!

Why all caps? Um, I mentioned I’m a busy mom before. Did I mention I’m the mom of teens too?  Technically, one’s a pre-teen…

In order to get the most of those wrinkle-free or nearly wrinkle-free clothes (see tip no. 1), you have to fold the clothes when they come out of the dryer. You don’t have to put them away right away, though this is preferred. But the men’s dress shirts and those khakis can’t stay balled up for long or you’ll end up searching for the ironing board.

When you pull the clothes out of the dryer, set aside the shirts and pants, shake them out. If you don’t have time to hang them up, fold the pants and lay the shirts lightly on top. It only takes a moment, really. You’ll be glad you did!

About Sister Notes

I'm a sister, mother, cousin, and aunt. My family and friends are spread all over and it seems we rarely make the time to connect with each other. I hope that by blogging we can connect and share those little tidbits and life lessons that keep us going each day!

  1. I admit, I don’t fold the laundry right away. My mother was a huge fan of “warm folding.” But I find that most often I start the dryer when I leave the house so by the time I get home it’s definitely not warm any more!
What I do try to do is lay everything out flat so that even if it’s not getting folded that day (or ever!) at least it’s not getting wrinkled.

Believe it or not, I used to (many moons ago) love ironing. I felt very accomplished when I removed every little crinkle. Now that I’m a mom to a toddler… Ironing? What’s that? I think it’s another word for “turn the dryer back on for a few minutes and then shake ‘em out…” Sigh… the good ol’ crisp days.

Now that is funny because I was just talking about laundry in my first vlog. I hate folding laundry. I have a pile of clothes on my couch, they’ve been there a week. My kids aren’t old enough so I can’t make them do it.
