Checklists for 2010

These aren’t designed to help me be a successful surgeon, but I hope they help me remember how to make the most of this year. So, without further ado, here they are:

Yearly Checklist

  • Develop goals for the year
  • Set up year’s budget
  • Create an envelop to keep handy for putting all tax-related documents collected throughout the year
  • Determine what organizations to support financially this year

  • Determine garden planting schedule (consult the Almanac too)

Monthly Checklist

  • Have a family game night
  • Keep a date night
  • Have a planning/strategy/check-in session with husband (this is NOT a date)
  • Make something with my hands!
  • Update the budget/track the month’s spending (and saving)
  • Read a book
  • Try a new recipe

Weekly Checklist

  • Take a bath – home spa style!
  • Household chores
  • Balance books (i.e. track the budget spending using Quicken Online)
  • Call a friend or relative I haven’t heard from for a while
  • Clean out my e-mail inbox!
  • Seek out surrounding beauty and photograph it
  • Check out a new song (I like using lala.com) or a new music artist
  • Blog (i.e. find my voice and express myself)

Daily Checklist

  • Pray
  • Say, “I Love You”
  • Speak encouraging words to my kids
  • Then check their homework…repeat step above
  • Read a news article

About Sister Notes

I'm a sister, mother, cousin, and aunt. My family and friends are spread all over and it seems we rarely make the time to connect with each other. I hope that by blogging we can connect and share those little tidbits and life lessons that keep us going each day!

I like the lists. It helps to have things broken down into small bites.

Speaking of, my daily list includes “have some chocolate” – which helps me to smile.
